报告内容简介：Navigation is the art and science of getting from one point to another, with or without the aid of electronic navigation systems. For modern transportation, electronic navigation systems, for instance, those based on the use of GPS, have played important roles, ensuring the safety and timeliness of transporting people from one location to another. This talk will discuss different types of navigation systems, with a focus on how a precision navigation system can be designed based on the integration of multiple positioning and/or other sensing techniques. The application of the precision navigation systems in robotic ground vehicle design and location-based service systems will also be discussed in this talk.

报告人简介：黄继东教授于1999年从华中师范大学获得学士学位，而后于2002年获得中科院空间中心硕士学位，并于2007年从美国俄亥俄大学获得博士学位，专业为电子工程，研究方向为高精度导航算法和设备研制。曾在美国NavCom公司担任高级导航算法工程师。目前担任美国加州富乐顿州立大学(California State University, Fullerton)电子工程系助理教授，主要研究方向为基于多种定位设备的组合高精度导航算法研究及其在智能移动机器人研制中的应用。其研究项目曾获美国联邦航空局及多家公司的资助，并在导航定位领域的权威期刊及国际会议发表多篇论文。目前担任GPS Solutions的编委，及多篇权威期刊的审稿人。是美国导航协会(Institute of Navigation, ION) 会员；及电气电子工程师协会(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE)高级会员。
